HERITAGE STOCK PROGRAM - "BD SHIRT"

I'm Kurono, a buyer at J.PRESS&SON 'S AOYAMA .

Today, I would like to introduce you to our standard BD shirt.

First of all, when designing button down shirts, we refer to past archives.

Apparently it has been sold at YALE COOP since around 1950 and was popular among students.

This BD shirt has several details that are unique to J.PRESS .

This time, I would like to introduce two of the most distinctive details.

The first is a patch and flap pocket on the chest that we call theJ.PRESS POCKET .”

This detail was created by the second generation of Irvin Press , who thought that students would ``carry things around a lot'' and ``be careful not to drop important things.'' Nowadays, it has become an easy way for people who like American Traditional to tell which brand of shirt they are wearing, so please keep this in mind!

The second is the rocker loop.

This detail was created because students at the time wanted a loop to hang on their lockers. When I ride the Shinkansen, I often use it and find it very convenient. (lol)

From the above two points, it can be seen that the function and design of the J.PRESS BD shirt were created with students in mind .

Next, I would like to touch on the materials.

J.PRESS's Oxford fabric uses original materials such as Egyptian cotton for the warp and organic cotton for the weft, and is characterized by its texture that improves with each wash and becomes more comfortable with your body.

It has an exquisite texture that is neither too thick nor too thin, so it can be worn throughout the year.

For casual wear, I wash clothes and hang them outside to dry, removing only the large wrinkles and wearing them unwashed (without ironing them). The only time I iron my clothes is when I'm tightening a tie on a blazer or jacket. Also, even if you don't wear a tie, the button-down collar will hang up securely, giving you a neat look, making it a really convenient item.

There are two silhouettes: Authentic Fit and Baggy Fit.

Authentic Fit is a so-called regular fit, but the sizing available at department stores is a little tighter, but this one is a little looser and more classic. There are old vintage items, but in America, we have a mindset of ``big things can also be small'' so that many people can wear them. But I think that loose feel is very American...or rather, it's cool.

In addition, Baggy Fit is a popular silhouette in SON'S and is recommended. The length and sleeve length remain the same, but the body width and sleeve width have been made extremely large for a relaxed fit. The shirt is designed to be worn as is, rather than being tucked in. If you want to wear a slightly modern shirt, please give this a try.

Furthermore , from 21SS, we have started selling not only oxford shirts, but also dressy broadcloth materials, which have also been well received. It has been treated to prevent wrinkles, so you can use it without ironing.

lastly···

We encourage our customers to try out different materials, colors, and fits to find the one they love.

We look forward to seeing you at our store.
