There isn’t only one rule of wearing and structure even though it it’s traditional clothes. For 23AW season, the theme of our collection is Ivy and Trad style we want wear just now. Restructure the fabric, pattern paper, silhouette and trims for the iconic wear to take a cue from the J.PRESS brochure archives. Adopt graphic art for print and embroidery as new trial and put an element conflicting with Trad items into one product. As for colorway, add Yellow and Royal blue be POP colors centering archaic Natural color and smoky Earth color. Try to adjust in minute scales and review the details as repair and reproduction of historic building, and step forward to the design improve the compability for further present day.


伝統的な洋服であれど、“着方”や“作り”のルールはひとつではない。 23AWシーズンは、今纏いたいアイビー、トラッドスタイルをテーマに据えたコレクション。 象徴となるウエアの素材、型紙、シルエット、付属品をJ.PRESSのブローシャーアーカイヴよりヒントを得て再構築。新たな試みとしてプリントや刺繍にグラフィティーアートを採用、トラッドなアイテムと相反する要素を一つのプロダクトに落とし込んでいる。 色目は古めかしいナチュラルカラー、スモーキーなアースカラーを軸としながら、イエローとロイヤルブルーでポップさを挿し込む。 歴史的な建造物の補修や再生のように、微細なレベルでの調整やディテールの一新を図り、より現代への互換性を高めたデザインへと歩を進めている。

KANEMASA is a brand established by Kanemasa Knitted Fabric Co.,Ltd. Which was founded in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture in 1964. In Wakayama where is one of the largest production of knitted fabric in Japan, they have been constantly studying a manufacturing for over 50 years. They have established the world’s leading knowledge and craftsmanship, combining the only development of knitwear and the expansion of production equipment, from high-quality raw materials to knitting, dyeing and products. They’re managing their original high-gauge knitting machine and jacquard machine that can freely express various pattern masterfully and pursuing to create high-quality, high-value-added products with excellent comfort and morphological stability.

“Whenever I heard about a new material, I wanted to be the first to get my hands on it, and I couldn’t wait to start working on new products.” “I always tried to be the first in the industry to have and install the latest equipment. This wasn’t because I was particularly fond of new things, or for the sake of appearances. It was because I wanted a good environment where we could enjoy the process of creating good things.” The writings which Yonetomi founder Ryoichi Oe left behind demonstrate that Yonetomi has always been imbued with a forward-looking spirit. Thanks to a fortuitous combination of climate, history and culture, and by carefully preserving and building upon these elements, the knits of Yonetomi Seni exist here and now.

My name is Stefano David, I was born in Milan (Italy) in 1982, where I still live. After graduating in classical studies in high school, and in advertising & graphic design at NABA (new academy of fine arts), I worked for 12 years as an art director in international advertising agencies (Publicis, Lowe, Arnold, Havas), dealing with brands of various kind. Recently I became a freelancer, focusing on my favorite fields, graphic art and illustration, and working both on commission and on personal artistic projects. I love hand drawing on paper and digital drawing. Some of my main influences are science fiction, horror, noir, industrial, street cultures, punk, metal, hip hop, dark, goth, grunge, vaporware, vintage aesthetics, underground, pulp, bizarre, eroticism, manga, anime, comics, graphic design, typography, lowbrow art, psychedelia.
